And here's an official clip from the ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS concert film/documentary (1973):
Of course, Bowie has done a ton of music and films since his Ziggy days. As a matter of fact, his latest album (and 25th studio album) Blackstar is being released for the first time today. Here's the latest music video from Blackstar (yes, it's weird)...
Bandaged eyes is a device Bowie used quite a bit and is nod to the French sci-fi art film, La Jetee. Bowie always loved combining sci-fi, art, rock-and-roll and film in his work.
Want to hear a decent cross-section of Bowie's music through the ages? A buddy of mine challenged me to tell the story of Bowie's music in 20 songs. Here is my rise to challenge in my "Bowie in 20" Spotify playlist.
And while I could go on and on with Bowie videos and links, I'll stop there. If you want to celebrate Bowie today - or begin to get into his music - Ziggy Stardust is the perfect place to start. ~ Chris

Mixed with concert footage, backstage looks and interview clips this film is the first concert film of the year that we suggest you see. Bowie is at his best in an era that was coming to an end. Psychedelic colors, gritty film and lot of awesome Rock-and-Roll. Be aware that this film is listed as 1983 also, because it was released in 1973, but only in a few theaters and film-festivals. It wasn't until Bowie got really huge in the 80s that the film was re-released 10 years later.
