Trailer for the film:

The legend of William H. Bonney is given a rock-n-roll, almost brat-pack, high-energy face-lift created by Christopher Cain, John Fusco, Joe Roth and James G. Robinson.  Perfectly cast as Billy the Kid is Emilio Estevez.  A roll he was born to play.  Surrounded by the brat-pack of Sutherland, Phillips, Sheen, Mulroney and Siemaszko, this film manages to resurrect a fallen genre and give it a 1988 shot of adrenaline.  It is pure action, revenge and a little comedy, laced with a lot of fun and you can still glean from it a little history too.

Ranch Handlers fighting the nasty rich bureaucrats, who come into town to take away the land and the money that the people worked so hard to keep.  Once someone close to Billy is taken from him he in-acts law into his own hands.  Another example of the anti-hero becoming a hero or in history's eyes; an outlaw.  This film would be the launching pad for Jack Palance, who would go on to do City Slickers (1991) and win the Oscar for that film.  You never can go wrong with Terence Stamp, who is a legend and LOST alumni Terry O'Quinn is on hand too.  Great stuff !!  One of my favorite westerns ever. - Phil
