Pardon My Sarong (1942)

This Day in Film History !!!

On this sad day in 1959, we lost a legend and one of Phil's favorite heroes, Lou Costello.

We couldn't find an official Trailer for this film, however I did stumble across a video with all the Abbott and Costello trailers on it.  The one for Pardon My Sarong (1942) is found at the 18:32 spot.

Bud and Lou get caught unwittingly stealing a bus and eventually they are chased by the bus company's hired-private police to a boat race, in which they end up being stowaways on one of the boats that also is sabotaged and eventually they are stranded on a tropical island in the south Pacific.  From there they meet the natives and some civilized characters that have dastardly schemes up their sleeves and as usual, the comedy ensues.  This is my favorite Abbott and Costello film at the height of their game. - Phil

Bud and Lou on NBC's This is Your Life - Lou Costello (1956) on YouTube:  This is a very interesting segment, because it happened months before their last film and at the end of their partnership.  Three years before Lou passed away.  Film History indeed:
