On this day back in 1931 gambling was made legal in the state of Nevada and even though our next film of the day takes place in Illinois it still is a great gambling movie starring the great Paul Newman and directed by George Roy Hill (Hey! This happened yesterday too. It's a Newman/Hill weekend it looks like) ............

This is a very clever film with plenty of cool ideas and camera shots.  It has amazing sets and costumes and is a really good film.
